Boats and tides

While anchoring a boat, you should to consider the water tide . If you have a floating deck, the tide is not very important as it adjusts itself according to the water level, but if you tie the boat to a fixed support, the tide should be a consideration.

If the boat is tied during high tide and the water level drops subsequently during low tide, the boat may be left hanging in the air or even break off. So care should be taken to leave enough slack while tying the boat and to have floating fenders to keep from damaging your boat.
